Day of "O's"

This past Wednesday Zack and I bundled up to brave the cold with 13,000 other Coloradans to see Obama speak at Denver University. We live one light rail stop from where he was going to be, so I decide it would be fun to take Zack for his first train ride along with his first political event.

So we jumped on the train that Albert takes everyday to work in downtown. Zack, like most boys, was fasinated with the train.

Zack and I walked from the train station 3 blocks then another 2 blocks or so to find the end of the line. Allison heard we were tying to see Obama and decided to meet us in line. Zack did amazing, just hung out, flirting with girls, singing songs and eating bananas. That is until he saw Allison eating something that looked tastier...Cheerio's!! Allison was kind enough to share and Zack had his first "O's”. Of course he loved them and munched on several while we waited in line for over 3 hours.

Zack decided to save some energy for meeting Obama and

took a little nap while we waited in line.

Zack woke up just as Obama was speaking, he was so excited...

OR it was the crowd screaming...Either way the little guy was a rock star!!

"O"bama addressing our group on Lacrosse field, with
Caroline Kennedy behind him.

The Auditorium that holds over 8,000 filled up, the second and third area were full, so by the time we reach the arena, Obama's campaign had realized there was still a large group of us still not inside and they very intelligently decided to set up speakers outside by the Lacrosse field and let us listen to his speech there.

Obama himself wanted to thank us for standing out in the cold to support him, So he came out and addressed our group before going into the arena.
Allison and I decided it worked out for the best, we were only about 30 feet from where he spoke, less drama, no security check and we could escape faster when he was finished. WIN/WIN!!

It turned out to be a great adventure for Zack and I,

especially since Allison joined us.

Below is the video I was able to take of what Obama said to us before he address the crowd in arena...
