Christmas party, baby style!!

Joss and her parents hosted a little Christmas get together last weekend...
It was a lot of fun, especially for the little ones!

Here is a picture of the boys team, Zack, Landon and Dylan.

Easily distracted by a toy...Then of course, Z and LT fight over it.

Soon after Zack and Dylan wrestling.
There was also lots of cute gals at this get together and a good boys to girls ratio!!
Mia and her mommy, Anna

Notice how she stole Z Santa hat...Zack will do anything to keep his girls happy.

Hostess Joss showing off her crawling skills to the younger babies.

We attempted to get a pic of all the little ones by the tree but it proved to be too much of a request for our little celebrities...They all cried!

We managed to stay out until 7 pm!! Imagine, that was when we used to leave the house before Zack, now it is when we head home!!

Zack's first Christmas!

Zack was so excited about his first Christmas that he stayed up Christmas eve til after 10 pm and woke up at 5:45 am!!

Zack and I got up, made coffee and played with his old toys while we waited for Dad, Stormy and Shadow to wake up.

While Zack and I were waiting, I pondered how life is so different this holiday season...

We've been parents for just over 6 months now, and no day is quite the same. Some days are great, some more challenging, but everyday we get to do some "everyday" things that are now "first" things for Z. It makes everyday kinda special. For this, I am greatful! I am able to be with Zack everyday (even on the tough days) and get to share it with all of you...with pictures and stories.

Back to PRESENTS!!

Zack's "I've been good, Santa" Look

Dad and the dogs finally got up and we got to open presents!!

It won't fit in the mouth, but Zack will sure try!

If he can't fit the present, the paper will work...

Zack loved the new cookie jar shape toy, if it would only fit into his mouth!

Haircuts and Playdates

Kari and I were both due for haircuts. Last time we tried to take both the boys since everyone at the salon wanted to see them. (Who wouln't?!) Besides they were little guys and "easy". You can see from the pics on Landon's blog that it went ok, but was a bit challenging.

http://landon-t-c.blogspot.com/2007/09/2x-baby.html

However this time around the boys are a lot bigger so us mommy's got a lot smarter. We scheduled back to back haircuts and while one was enjoying her head massage, the other one watched both boys at LT's place.

As you can see, by the smile on Landon's face, it worked out perfectly.

Although the boys still haven't really figured out how to share...above fighting over Landon's new cool, square thingy...

Then both took turns stealing this particular book as soon as the other one had it....Like Kari said "Wonder if they will still be fighting over them in high school"

H2O for big boy!

We bought Zack a little sippy cup a few weeks ago because he constantly grabbing our glasses. Again this is a suppose to be a sign that he is ready, in this case, for water...

but he only seems to want to drink out of "Big glasses"...

Even though he did try it...

He is very opposed to his "baby" cup!

Santa in LoDo

Zack and a couple of his lady friends, Mia and Joss, went to see Santa this past Sunday in LoDo http://lodo.org/lodo-411.htm

It turns out to be a really cool set up. It is a really nice Santa with lots of patience..thank goodness. It is a little area made up like a house in an Alpine village and after you have a chat with Saint Nick, you get to go down a little slide. (Just the kiddo's) I am sure Z will try it out next year. And best of all it is all free!! And they don't try to get you to buy over priced pictures of your screaming baby. Plus you CAN use your own camera, if you do have the one kid that does likes to talk to complete strangers with long white beards. They even have the Mrs. as you can see from the pics below.

Well, Z was happy until Santa said something and he turned around and saw this big, scary man, with a long white beard, then he started to scream.
He calmed down enough to take a group picture, but he wasn't about to smile.
He was however, very concerned about Mia (right) who liked Santa even less than Zack.

Joss on the other hand, loved Santa,
so much she wanted a piece of him.
(left) But she's the elder and a pro! She saw Santa at the mall too. (Posing with mommy, Sarah, right)

Best brother/friends...

When we were pregnant, we started to hang out with Brian and Kari Campbell more. Albert used to work with Brian, but we had kinda lost touch. They are great people and we have a lot of fun with them.

We were due around the same time and just days before Zackary was born, three to be exact, Landon Tanner arrived.

On the Sunday after they were born, they met.

Little did we know how much fun we would have together once the boys were born. The play dates started early and happen often.

Here are just a few...

This is the first time LT, as he is now known, came over to Z's to play.
Hanging out with the ladies!!

(L to R Sofi, Landon, Zack and Mia)

Hanging out a "baby bar-b-que" at Mia's house. No, we didn't cook the babies, just families with babies were invited to celebrate Mia's 3rd month.

"Doing" baby yoga at 7 weeks

I have no doubt these two will be the best of friends in the years to come, as Kari says "Brother Friends".

What happened to my little baby?

Zack went for his 6 month check up today. He has grown a lot in 6 months...

Taken July 8th, 1 month old

Taken December 8th, 6 months old
16 lbs. 3 oz, 26 inches tall, and his little melon is 16 1/2 inches.

A much more experienced father, Rob, (Seth is 2 months older than Zack) recommenced that we take a picture in the same place, with a point of reference, each month. We have tried and the difference in Zack's size even caught me off guard. Boy has he grown! I don't have a little baby anymore.

6 months already??

(First post by Daddy)
It's hard to believe it's already been six months since Z was born.

When Zack was born many people told me "It goes by fast, enjoy it", very cliched but very true.

Somewhere during the months of sleep deprivation my perception of time changed. These days I find myself living in the "now" to a much greater extent than I did before, so I think that I am enjoying "it".

The flip side is I spend a lot less time planning for the future or dwelling on the past. In fact, I don't really remember what life was like before Zack was born.
Maybe it's some type of ancient survival mechanism.

Zack spent his half a year birthday playing on blanket great-grandma MaryEllen made, Then went swimming with a bunch of the babies.
Was extra fun because some daddy's were able to come.

Went to yummy mexican food after (Thanks Jamie for recommendation) with
L to R Cynthia and Miaka, Ben and Dylan, Jason and Sophia, and Jamie and Z
About 2 minutes into car ride home...Caught some ZZZ's

Book's are for Readin'

While Albert devours (no pun intended) books, I only occasionally will read an actual book, most of the time I read "article's" on the net. I do, however, believe in reading books and we read most nights with our niece, Anna and nephew, Elias when they lived here. I am sure Zack will eventually learn that books are interesting and entertaining, and "for reading", but for now he eats every book we have bought him...

For bed time...

For bath time...

Play time at Seth's house...

Even if Zack has to wrestle
Landon for the book, he will get it
and EAT it.

Sorry LT, Z will learn to share someday!
